Behind the scenes at the Autumn/Winter shoot
It’s been all hands on deck for Jac Cadeaux this week! We hit the studio last Friday to shoot our Autumn/Winter ’24 collection, producing 2500 images from which we’re now selecting the best to showcase a range of new and subtly evolved styles that we’ve been informally calling the Alpes-Maritime collection.
Many of you will know the Alpes-Maritimes department of France, tucked in the south-east of the country against the Italian border. It embraces a significant stretch of the French riviera, including Cannes and Nice, but also the mountains beyond, with ancient stone villages and minor ski fields.
We’ve been charmed repeatedly by the region, and the ambience of standing on the beach in Monaco in the warm midday sun – and after just one hour of driving, joining the snow-skiers at the Col de Turini.
This is ringing loudly as we go through the images of our new navy polo neck jumper in Australian merino wool and cashmere, and new takes on our ever-popular Racer striped crew-neck jumper, again in merino/cashmere.
I also took a moment during the studio shoot to enjoy the excitement. Studio photography is the best means for showcasing our products, and it makes for a fun but frenetic day among clever and talented people. Along with the photographer, assistant and lighting, there’s the hair and make-up artist the stylist and of course, the model.
Shown is just a small, sneak peek at our first drop which will arrive at the end of March. We think you’ll love our navy blazer, our beautiful, long silk skirts, and our popular wool/cashmere tees with elbow-length sleeve, now in three new colours: navy, grey and orange. There’s more still to come!
