We wish a joyeux anniversaire to Brigitte Bardot, who turns 91 on Sunday. Brigitte is a living symbol of the French Riviera – both as a young starlet lounging seaside in stripes or a simple tee, and now as one of the longest established residents of the seaside haven of Saint- Tropez.
Riviera style evokes an effortless mix of health, comfort and casual chic that Brigitte helped define in the 1950s-60s while living in and around Saint-Tropez. It’s truly timeless and its influence is evident in fashion today. It’s hard to believe that the photographs of Brigitte on this page – in a red knit top above, and in a Breton top on the beach below – were taken 60-70 years ago.
This week we are excited to introduce our new, solid colour tees with the popular elbow length sleeve. New colour choices of red and ecru join the collection, while the white and navy versions have been restocked. These pair beautifully with our Bermuda shorts and especially with a butter cream cardigan thrown over the top.
We also introduce the red and white and black and white pinstripe tees, again with elbow length sleeves. And in honour of Brigitte and her hometown we’ve showcased the Saint-Tropez slides and bags in our pictures below.
